Helvar has officially released its Sustainability Report 2025, detailing the company’s environmental impact and progress in creating healthier, smarter, and greener buildings through advanced lighting control, intelligent sensing technologies and digital services.
A primary focus of Helvar’s sustainability strategy is increasing its carbon handprint – the total amount of energy saved and carbon emissions avoided by customers using Helvar solutions. During the 2025 reporting period, the company’s carbon handprint was found to be six times larger than its carbon footprint, positioning the business on climate-positive ground.
“Our renewed organisational structure, the launch of innovations such as the 945 Application Controller, and the establishment of Helvar Poland through the acquisition of our long‑standing partner’s lighting control operations all support our long‑term growth and agility“, says Kim Långström, CEO of Helvar. “Even in a challenging construction market, opportunities remain strong as the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and similar energy regulations accelerate the shift toward net‑zero buildings and drive demand for renovation”.
In alignment with evolving reporting requirements, this consolidated report follows the VSME (Voluntary ESRS for Non-Listed Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises) basic and comprehensive reporting modules.
Other highlights from the 2025 Report include:
➢ Helvar has successfully maintained Scope 1 and 2 emissions below the target of 80 tonnes of CO2e.
➢ Helvar established a target to ensure all new product releases contain recycled material, supporting a circular economy.
➢ Helvar continues to foster a strong employee learning culture with initiatives like the weekly “empower hour”, a paid Wellbeing Day, and regularly occurring knowledge sharing meetings.
