In the heart of Milan’s Bicocca district, Intermark Sistemi has created a showroom that brings technology and design together under one roof. Opened at the end of 2022, the space serves as a multifunctional hub designed to inspire and inform, hosting demonstrations, meetings, and events.
With its state-of-the-art technology, the showroom gives visitors a hands-on experience of how integrated systems can transform spaces. At the heart of this transformation is the lighting, designed not only to impress, but to respond seamlessly to people and purpose.
A Space Built for Flexibility
The showroom spans two open-plan rooms with high ceilings, including the “Colosseo” Room, a double-height space named in homage to Intermark Sistemi’s Roman roots. Large floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light.
To demonstrate a variety of workplace technologies, the showroom is designed to simulate multiple real-world environments. On the ground floor, visitors can explore a boardroom, a huddle space, and an open collaboration area. Upstairs, a mezzanine level features a fully equipped conference room. A full suite of AV equipment, including a large LED wall, high-resolution displays, and cameras, supports live demos, hybrid meetings, and interactive training sessions.
The lighting design, powered by luminaires from Modular Lighting Instruments, features a mix of pendants, tracks, and ceiling fixtures. Each element was selected to highlight different styles while achieving optimal visual performance.
Smart Lighting Control with Helvar Imagine
With such a multifunctional space, a flexible and intuitive control system was essential. Helvar’s Imagine solution proved the perfect fit, not only for its adaptability and user-friendly interfaces, but also for its seamless integration with the CUE Control System. This allows complete control of lighting, audio, video, climate, and shades from a single platform.
The solution supports full dimming control, including Tunable White functionality for adjustable colour temperature. It also manages fan coil units via a 1–10 V interface and integrates motorised shade control, bringing lighting, climate, and daylight into one cohesive system.
Control is intuitive, thanks to a combination of Helvar Imagine multi-button switches and sleek Illustris panels with capacitive touch. At the centre of the room, a SceneTouch panel makes it easy to adapt the space at the tap of a screen, ideal in a high-tech setting where simplicity is key.
More than a technical showcase, this is a space where visitors can truly experience what human-centric lighting means. Whether it’s a five-minute catch-up or a five-hour strategy session, the lighting adapts to support comfort, focus, and productivity, automatically, or at the touch of a button.
