Nobis Hotel, Copenhagen
Attention to detail, elegance, warmth – Helvar lighting controls at Nobis Hotel
A thorough renovation from 2015 to 2017 saw a century-old building in Copenhagen transform into a magnificent five-star luxury hotel: Nobis Hotel. This centrally located hotel, close to Tivoli Gardens, Central Station, City Hall Square, and the New Carlsberg Glyptotek, was originally a historic property from 1903, designed by architect Martin Borch, the royal building inspector at the time. With quality, soul, and attention-to-detail as cornerstones for the renovation, this building is now home to the visually stunning and elegant Nobis Hotel.
Together with our partner Vanpee A/S, we have helped Nobis Hotel achieve a contemporary and classic design¹ along with a luxurious and authentic environment. Helvar lighting control systems were an ideal fit for the renovation. Combining comprehensive scene controls, integrations with audiovisual systems, room management systems, and an intuitive, easy-to-use product, our solutions offered Nobis Hotel a remarkable degree of flexibility in design.
Apart from controlling the overall lighting throughout the hotel to help achieve a “warm, genuine experience” ², Helvar routers also allow guests to customise the light in their own rooms, including ceiling lamps, bedside lamps and stand lamps. Various lighting scenarios have been programmed in the reception, lobby, and restaurant areas, which staff can easily control via iPads. Our solution makes it easy to choose the right lighting in any space, which contributes to a great atmosphere in the hotel along with impressive attention to detail.
A full Helvar Digidim solution has been installed at the hotel, commissioned by Vanpee with installation by Lelectric. For the solution, Helvar Digidim 910 routers have been used, which are located in the technical boards. The routers are connected internally via an Ethernet Switch, located on a DIN rail in the switchboard.
Digidim 311 PIR sensors for personal detection are installed on all floors of the hotel. Dimming of wall and ceiling outlets in hotel rooms, including ceiling lamps, bedside lamps and floor lamps, is carried out through Digidim 454 dimmers. The light is operated via Digidim 444 mini input modules, which are mounted behind spring pressure. Pendulums, lamp sockets, luminaires, etc. without DALI ballasts are controlled via relay units.
Helvar has a proven track record in providing the hospitality industry with stylish, scalable, and easy-to-use lighting control solutions. For more information on Helvar lighting control solutions for your project, please contact us – we look forward to hearing from you!
