Sights set on sustainable and intelligent workplaces

After 28 years in the same office, Microsoft Stockholm moved into its new premises in Urban Escape in November 2019. The new office of 3,000 sqm hosts 600 employees and is an intelligent workplace where humanity, technology and environment are in symbiosis.

The concept is based on the four distinct seasons that characterise Swedish nature and life. A boldness in the choice of materiality, colour and light have been the cornerstones in realising the concept.

Project requirements:
A key requirement for Microsoft Stockholm’s office was energy savings. The Imagine 910 router system was installed to provide energy-saving features via presence detection and daylight harvesting. Further automation can be achieved through scheduled events.
Helvar 320 sensors were used throughout the office, offering excellent detection performance through high sensitivity and multidirectional coverage. 321 Multisensors were installed for their energy-saving functions, turning the lights on when its coverage area is occupied and off when unoccupied.
The lighting system is controlled via customisable, DALI-compatible 13xx modular panels. Each module is fitted with indicator LEDs and an infrared receiver that gives the option of remote operation using hand-held remote controls.

“This is a fantastic project for Helvar to be a part of. Today’s spaces require sustainable and adaptable solutions to cope with change, and the installation at Microsoft Stockholm’s office is just one example of this. We are proud to have assisted with their energy-saving requirements,” explains Jan Bietkowsi, Head of Sales, Sweden, Helvar.
