Helvar Poland Office (formerly Helvar Competence Center Office)

Poland

The main part of the Helvar Poland office (formerly Helvar Competence Center office) is a spacious open-plan area where all employees can work and collaborate in a welcoming atmosphere. The space is enhanced by numerous plants (including snake plants, areca palms, anthuriums, monsteras, ficuses, epipremnum, and peace lilies), which lend it a fresh and natural character while promoting both concentration and wellbeing. Reproductions of Wassily Kandinsky’s paintings, created by students from the Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts, hang on the walls, giving the interior an artistic climate that combines modern design with creative energy.

Optimal lighting means something different for everyone, which is why employees have been equipped with wireless EnOcean 184W panels. The four-button panel allows for control of the luminaire above each desk. Employees can switch the lighting on and off according to their individual needs, dim the light up and down, and adjust the colour temperature (warm or cool light).

The open spaces are equipped with 135BD2 and ST-7 SceneTouch panels. The 135BD2 panels can be used to control the luminaires (on/off, dim up/down) as well as to open and close the blinds. The blind control is integrated with the lighting controls. Additionally, the ST-7 SceneTouch panel allows users to select from predefined lighting scenes, such as lighting for the cleaning service or switching the illuminated logo on and off. It can also be used to control the blinds in the kitchen and the open-plan area.

There is a dedicated space for quiet, focused work. This room, intended for quiet conversations, is equipped with an adjustable desk, allowing the workspace to be adapted to individual needs. This makes it suitable for both conversations/video conferences and comfortable, focused work.

The office also serves as a showroom, showcasing the capabilities of the Helvar lighting control system. The building houses the Helvar Academy training centre, where participants in programming courses get to know the Designer software and learn to program the lighting control system.

The first floor contains the lobby and a large conference room. Here, the internal blinds can also be controlled from the wall-mounted ST-7 SceneTouch panel. The luminaires in the lobby have been grouped to provide more lighting configuration options; it is possible to switch on all luminaires simultaneously, but also to control the track lighting, the lights above the kitchenette, and the smaller and larger circular ceiling luminaires separately.

In the conference room, the projection screen can be extended and retracted from the ST-7 SceneTouch panel. The room can be divided into two smaller spaces using sliding doors, with predefined lighting scenes for the new layout. To ensure the lighting control system remains fully functional, 321 Multisensors have been installed at the entrances to the rooms. Equipped with a passive infrared (PIR) detector, the sensor detects a person entering the room and automatically activates the lighting in the selected zone.

Circulation areas (corridors and stairwells) are served by Helvar’s ActiveAhead solution. The lighting is switched on automatically, lighting the way ahead of the user’s next step. This solution helps to maintain an appropriate and safe level of illumination, eliminating the unnecessary lighting of areas that do not need to be lit at a particular moment or time of day, for example, due to available daylight or a lack of movement.

The lights in the toilets are switched on fully automatically, which eliminates the need to touch surfaces, improving hygiene. This solution also removes the risk of lights being left on unnecessarily, which in turn translates to lower energy consumption and reduced electricity bills.
