Copenhagen Zoo – Panda Facilities

Copenhagen, Denmark

Helvar illuminates the Yin and Yang

In April 2019, the two new pandas moved into the panda facility in Copenhagen Zoo. Seen from above the facility looks like a Yin and Yang symbol and the design allows the visitors to get really close to the pandas.
A full Helvar DALI solution has been implemented in all areas, including stables, meeting rooms, restaurant and shops. The light in the panda facility is controlled by four Helvar 910 routers, which are centrally located in the electric switchboard. In stables and animal facilities a 444 input module has been installed behind the switches, from which the light can be operated. In addition, Helvar 341 PIR sensors are installed registering presence and absence. The lighting in the restaurant and in shops is controlled from and iPad with the Helvar SceneSet app. Helvar 320 PIR sensors for presence detection are fitted in the kitchen, corridors and toilets. In meeting rooms, daylight control has been added with Helvar 321 multisensors.
