Generali Office: Intelligent Lighting with Modern Italian Design
Warsaw, PolandAmidst the historic walls of a building that currently serves as a high-class Generali office that draws inspiration from its late 18th-century architectural heritage, we emphasized the timeless charm of the past with cutting-edge lighting technology of the present. This project was executed by HC Center, the local Helvar partner, who expertly implemented our lighting control solutions.
Generali’s vision was clear – they wanted a workspace that not only honored the architectural legacy of the building, but a people-focused space with intelligent lighting that boosts productivity, comfort, and well-being of its users. Choosing a lighting solution that automatically adjusts to daylight was also specifically important to the customer.
Lighting control systems in a project often go unnoticed – when executed effectively, they seamlessly blend into the background. Yet, these systems play a crucial role in shaping the well-being of building occupants and contributing to its sustainability. It’s more than just providing illumination – it’s about crafting an environment which enhances employee productivity, saves energy, and elevates interior design to create an enjoyable and efficient workspace.
In recent years, our lifestyle has shifted, with nearly 90% of our time now spent indoors. This change means we’re exposed to less natural light, which significantly affects our daily rhythm and overall well-being. Smart lighting systems that adjust to natural light help regulate our circadian rhythms and mitigate the negative effects of darker seasons. Imagine lighting control system, was an ideal fit for Generali’s office.

The scope of Generali’s office modernization and DALI control extended across multiple levels, covering the entire building from levels 00 to 05. The garages were also modernized, featuring lighting control based on regular on/off motion sensors. One of the standout features of Imagine was its ability to adjust lighting intensity based on natural daylight, perfectly aligning with Generali’s vision.

Enlightening this contemporary space required designing an innovative lighting control that harmonized with the architectural vision and ensured ease of installation. The electrical installation contractor, Elektromontaż Rzeszów Sp. z o.o. based out of Przemyśl, explains:
”We had already carried out several other installations together in previous projects. In collaboration with Epstein, HC Center, managed to develop a lighting control system design that meets all the customer’s requirements and supports their modern renaissance interior.
”The project went very smoothly. Thanks to our previous experience with the Helvar system, I knew that the collaboration would be fruitful. Although the arrangement for Generali was challenging due to various manufacturers, the Helvar system proved to be flexible enough for us to handle it without any issues. The DALI system remains highly versatile and reliable, which greatly facilitated our task.” – says Beata Zarzycka-Rojek, Electrical Project Engineer from Epstein.
